"FUNERAL TRAIN IS SCENE OF A DEATH
--------------------
While Mother's Body Rests in Baggage Car a Wee Baby Passes Away Near Cleveland.
On Way To Indianapolis
--------------------
Mrs. Grace Emmons and Infant Will Be Buried Together at Crown Hill
--------------------
While its pretty mother lay in a snowy casket in the baggage car, a tiny baby battled vainly for life in a Pullman car, all the way from New York city to a point east of Indianapolis, dying about 6 o'clcok Saturday evening.

This afternoon, nestling in the arms of its mother, Mrs. Grace Emmons, the baby will be an added occupant to that same snowy casket, and together they will be buried in Crown Hill.

The baby was born in New York city two weeks ago yesterday, and a few days later the mother died, leaving the child in the arms of its grandmother, Mrs. Frank Hablch, who lives at 325 Capitol avenue.

The father is Willis Emmons, who, until two years ago was a resident of Indianopolis, Friday, Mr. Emmons, Mrs. Habich and the baby started on the sorrowful journey to Indianapolis, bringing with them the body of the wife and daughter.

After the trip had been started it was seen that the baby was in a serious condition and might not live until the end of the journey. But mile after mile passed and the hopes of the sad little party brightened as they could almost see the goal in sight wtih the spark of life still in the little one.

DIES ON THE TRAIN

At Cleveland the baby was sinking, and a few miles farther on it died, adding new grief to the sore hearts of its father and grandmother.

Mrs. Emmons lived in Indianapolis several years, attending school here and was well known in local society.

The funeral will be held a 2 o'clock this afternoon from 325 North Capitol avenue and the services will be conducted by the Rev. J. W. J. Collins of the Brightwood M. E. Church, with burial in charge of Finn Bros. & Long.

Mrs. Della John, Miss Elizabeth Fullenwider, Mrs. Era Newheart, Mrs. Grace Stanley, Miss Mayme Riley and Miss Ida Silder, former schoolmates of the young woman in this city, will serve as pallbearers."
