Kelvin P. "Kelly" Eberhart, 77, of Monroe died at 6:40 a.m. Monday in his home. He had been in poor health for two years.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rupp Funeral Home. He will lie i state at 10 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church with services at 11 a.m. The Rev. Gary Tryggestad and Rev. Ross Ulrich, pastors of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Monroe.

Born April 11, 1931, in Riga, he was the son of Hiram and Ruth (Guilder) Eberhart. He married Clara Willing April 26, 1952, at Zion Lutheran Church; she preceded him in death on April 23, 1999.

He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church, Ottawa Lake. The family moved to Monroe in 1935. He was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church and attended Stoney Creek Elementary School. He was a 1948 graduate of Monroe High School.

He was a lifelong farmer and also worked as a boilermaker.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Monroe and Brest Bay Sportsmen's Gun Club, where he had once served as president.

He is survived by two daughters, Connie Eberhart and Linda Eberhart, both of Monroe; three grandchildren, Lisa (Jason) Mirza of Metamora, Kyle (Julie) Eberhart of Monroe, Travis Eberhart of Metamora; five great-grandchildren, Isabella Mirza, Gabriella Mirza, Tyra Eberhart, Silias Eberhart and Emily Eberhart.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by a son, Bruce Eberhart; a grandson, Eric Eberhart; a brother, Raymond Eberhart; two sisters, Edwina Sype and Doris Eberhart.
