Memorial services for Mary Lou Flowers, 82, Mesquite, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Providence Baptist Church, Tool, with Rich Flowers and Randy Jones officiating, under the direction of Hilliard Funeral Home, Van. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Flowers passed away on December 6, 2013 in Dallas.
Mary Lou Flowers was born October 24, 1931 in Poynor, TX to the late Sidney Dingler and Rosa Lee Reynolds Dingler. She worked as a checker at several grocery stores and department stores and also was a homemaker. She was a member of Parkside Baptist Church in Mesquite.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Doyle Flowers and son, Jerry David Short.
Survivors include her son, Rich Flowers and wife, Debra of Poynor; daughter, Sharon Thompson of Mesquite; grandchildren, Kevin Thompson, George Thompson and wife, Melissa and Jay Wells and wife, Robyn; great-grandchildren, Emma Thompson, Jacob Wells and Jewell Wells.
