Robert J. Kimbel, 87, of 163 Logan Run Road, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Danville, a son of the late Roy and Carrie (Enterline) Kimbel. He was married for 60 years to the former Elsie Dewalt who survives.

Bob was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy.

Robert was employed as a facility plant supervisor at Merck in Riverside for over 32 years until his retirement.
He was a lifetime member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Riverside.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert J. Jr. and Sherri Kimbel, of Washington, D.C., Joseph R. Kimbel, of California, and Brian E. and Susanna Kimbel, of Virginia; two daughters, Sandra E. Kimbel, of Mill Hall and Judy A. Kimbel of Virginia; four grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Jared and Joshua; and one brother, Roy Richard, of Riverside.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 240 Sunbury Road, Riverside, followed by the funeral at 11, with his pastor, the Rev. Dr. Donald Hurley, officiating.

The burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park Cemetery, Lime Ridge.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Brady Funeral Home, Danville.
