Ross was the son of Walter Francis Sample and Emily (Hanks) Sample.Husband of Imajene( Denton) they married on August 25, 1945. Father of Charles and Paul. Loving Uncle of many.
He served in the Army during World War II. Ross was wounded during the war he was first kept in a hospital in England until he was stable enough. He was then sent to Fort Billings Hospital in Indianapolis. Ross and Imogene met while Ross was recovering. They met at P R Mallery where they made batteries for walkie talkies for the US Army. Testing Battery cells.
Ross died in an automobile accident.

Imogene (Denton) Sample was born on October 5, 1925 in Hickman, Kentucky to Charley Duke Denton and Bessie Gladys (Armstrnog) Denton. Imogene (Denton) was married to Ross R Sample in the early 1940's. She and Ross had two sons Charles F and Paul G (Madeleine) Sample. Granddaughters, Tracy (Paul) Rickey, Janelle (Steve) Stryjecki and Lindsey (Jason) Kramer; great-grandchildren, Dylan Stryjecki, Nicole Stryjecki, Evan Kramer and Avery Kramer; and sister, Sue (Charles) Thomason. Imogene was predeceased by her husband, Ross Sample; son, Charles Francis Sample; four siblings and parents.

Imogene enjoyed knitting, reading, flowers and flower gardening. For most of her life, Imogene kept a journal and at the end of every day she jotted information in the notebook about what took place that day and the weather. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,sister, aunt and friend. Imogene will be greatly missed by her loving family. Imogene L. Sample died peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
