Irene G. Mitchley, 95, formerly of Cogan Station, died Monday, August 28, 2006, at ManorCare Health Services South.

Born November 24, 1910, in Salladasburg, she was a daughter of George E and Goldie E. (Farnsworth) Delker.

She was a homemaker. Irene was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, her animals, and being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar James Mitchley in 1966; a daughter, Arlene Hampshire in 1957; five brothers, Paul, Clair, Elmer, LaRue, and Harry Delker; and two sisters, Louise Horn and Martha Horn.

Surviving are a son, Richard L. Mitchley (Helen) of Cogan Station; a grandson whom she adopted as her own son, Bob Mitchley; eight grandchildren, Gary, Jim, Dave, and Brian Mitchley; Donald Koons, Sharon Curry, Jan Todd, and Connie Bohart; 30 great grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and three brothers, John Delker of Cogan Station, Cleland and Mike Delker, both of Williamsport.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Southern Baptist Church, 89 Kimble Hill Road, Williamsport, with the Rev. Kenton L. Hunt and her grandson, Pastor Darrin Mitchley, officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
