Jack R. Dayhuff, 87, of Terre Haute died Tuesday July 15, 2008 at 4:11 a.m. in Union Hospital. He was a self-employed truck driver for more than 50 years for Jack R. Dayhuff Trucking and also spent 30 plus years for Margaret Avenue Materials. He was born April 17, 1921 in Terre Haute to Harry Earl Dayhuff and Nettie Fulk Dayhuff.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Halt Dayhuff, whom he married Dec. 24, 1981; three daughters, Tana Smith of Bradenton, Fla., Susan Gehring of Indianapolis, and Kamela Farmer and her husband Geoff of Cory; 12 grandchildren Bradley Smith, Laurice Potts and her husband John, Laurelle Carmean, Tyceson Gehring, Tisha Nichols, Caleb Farmer and his wife Ryn, Matthew Farmer, Joel Farmer, Lydia Farmer, Darius Farmer, Phoebe Farmer, and Nathan Farmer; and nine great-grandchildren, Breauna, Blaine Mitchell, Kyle, Kendal Walters, Hayley and Jacob Nichols, Kiersten, Grace, and Olivia Gehring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jack Russel Dayhuff, on Aug. 25, 1965; one brother, Earl Dayhuff; and one sister, Christine Pelletier.
He was a member of Cory Nazarene Church and attended Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church and he was a member of Lawton-Byrum Post No. 972 Veteran of Foreign Wars.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008 in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with the Rev. Rick Parsons officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery with graveside military services by Lawton-Byrum Post 972 VFW. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today, July 18, 2008, in the funeral home. The family has suggested that for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International.

Norma Halt (Zurcher) Dayhuff, 89, of Cory, passed away on December 4, 2017. She was born to Moyne Rogers Halt and Floyd Halt on April 11,1928, in Cory, IN.

She was survived by a daughter, Kamela Zurcher Farmer and son in-law, Geoffrey Farmer; seven grandchildren, Caleb (Ryn) Farmer, Matthew (Anna) Farmer, Joel (Terry) Farmer, Lydia Farmer, Darius Farmer, Phoebe Farmer, and Nathan Farmer; great- grandchildren, Faith Noel Farmer, and Noah Gabriel Farmer, and Jack Farmer, expected in March 2018. Norma also has three sisters, Lorene Schafer, Wilma Lockman, and Erma Clifton; and several nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dayhuff; her parents, and brother who died at birth.

In lieu of flowers, knowing her love for God and children, we ask that any donations be made to the Terre Haute First Baptist Youth; 4701 E Poplar Drive; Terre Haute, IN 47803
