Deceased Name: Dorothy A. Davis

Dorothy A. Davis, 99, a former resident of Shamokin Dam, died Monday in the Penn Lutheran Village in Selinsgrove.

She was born in Shamokin on January 28, 1903, a daughter of the late Arthur and Ada (Conrad) Kline.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Warren G. Mutchler in 1937 and by her second husband William C. Davis in 1995.

She was a former employee of Shroyer Dress Co., Shamokin; was a member of the Ash Grove United Methodist Church, Paxinos, where she was a former President of the Ladies Aide, and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed writing poetry and cooking for her family and quilting; was a wonderful and devoted mother and grandmother.

Surviving are four daughters, Alda A. Rhodes of Sunbury, Jeanne D. Owens of Paoli, Florine M. Wert and Phyllis M. Moore, both of Mechanicsburg; two sisters, Erma Horn of Coal Township, PA and Evelyn Hackenberg of Shamokin Dam, PA; twenty-four grandchildren; fifty-four great-grandchildren; and thirty-three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Joyce and Belva Mutchler; and three sons, Graham, Donald and Fred Mutchler; three sisters, Vera Kline, Marie Whitney and Anna Kline; four brothers, Chester, Carl, Vernon and Clair Kline.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., in the Ash Grove United Methodist Church, RR1, Paxinos, with the Rev. Archie A. Passmore officiating, Burial will be made in the adjoining church cemetery, Friends will be received at the church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ash Grove United Methodist Church, RR1, Paxinos, PA 17860.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street, Sunbury."
