Charles was my father. He was the 7th & youngest child born to Walter Eastland Ward and Ora Belle Morris Ward. In 1962 he was married to Marilyn Elaine Daugherty. In 1963 their daughter Melanie was born. In 1965 their son Charles Jr was born. Then tragically in 1967 he was killed in an auto accident on Hwy 19 between Canton & Athens Texas. Charles was born in Martins Mill Texas in Van Zandt County and died in between Martins Mill & Athens Texas in Henderson County Texas.
As a child, I asked "Momma why did God take my Daddy" and was always reminded:
"Romans 8:28...And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
