"Delbert Ford
(1938-2004)

Delbert (Deb) Dewayne Ford, 65 of Lovilia died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at Gilbert Funeral Chapel in Lovilia, Pastor Jill Leveck of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia.

Deb was born June 26, 1938 in Bussey, to Francis and Lois (Little) Ford. He graduated from Bussey High School in 1954. On June 7, he entered the Iowa Army National Guard. He served as a Specialist Third Class with Company A 168th Infantry until his discharge on June 3, 1956. Deb then entered the U.S. Navy and was discharged on June 6, 1962. He married JoAnn Slofkosky on Sept, 24, 1984 in Oskaloosa. He owned and operated Ford's North End Tap in Lovilia. Deb was a member of the Amercan Legion and the Eagles. He was an excellent rifleman.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years; three sons Kelly (Mary) Ford of Knoxville, Kyle (Angie) Ford of Attica and Kory (Carrie) of Lovilia; three stepdaughters Jamie Thomas of Las Vegas, N.V.,[sic] Billie Jo Paulsgrove of Des Moines and Lindsey Paulsgrove of Lovilia; one sister Lavada (Tim) Duffy of Des Moines; three brothers, Philip (Sandra) Ford of Bussey, Ernie (Patty) Ford of Lovilia, and Joe (Judy) Ford of Bussey; sister-in-law Lois Ford of Bussey; 16 grandchildren, Chad, Erica, Alyssa, Mara, Breanne, Nick, Kylie, Gable, Randy, Kaitlin, Austin, Kate, Skylar, Tyler, Keith, & Hailey, and one great-grandson, Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bob and sister Helen Kay.

Memorials are open to the donor's choice.

Casketbearers are Mitch McCombs, Denny Johnson, Clarence Kearns, Joe Ford, Marvin Heaton and Ray Gardner.

Denna Smith Ford was born August 21, 1938 in Bussey, Iowa the daughter of Alvin and Wilma(Mitchell)Smith.

She attended and graduated from Bussey schools and was a proud member of the Sweet 16 tournament team in 1955. Following high school, Denna attended Kirkwood Community
College to become a Health care Administrator. On December 21, 1957 she was united in marriage to Delbert "Del" Ford and to this union three sons were born. Denna worked her entire life in healthcare and as a homemaker. She was the Administrator of West Ridge Manor, in Knoxville, for 30 years. She married Gene R. Case on August 4, 1995. Denna loved her life, especially her sons and her work with the elderly.

She was a member of the A.B.W.A. and the Iowa Health Care Association-as a long-term care administrator.

Denna passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at her home, in Knoxville, at the age of 76 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and two husbands, Delbert and Gene. Left to keep her memory are her sons: Kelly D. Ford(Lylaine)of Knoxville, Kyle D. Ford(Angie)of Attica and Kory D. Ford(Melody)of Hamilton; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Dennie Smith(Helen)of Indianola; cousins: Lynda Ann Ross and John Mathews both of Sacramento, California; dogs, Rocky, Rowdy and Lilly and many other family members and friends.

Visitation, Bybee & Davis Funeral Home, Knoxville, Iowa Friday, September 26, 2014 6-8 Inurnment-Denna will be cremated following the service and burial will be in Liberty Center Cemetery. Bussey, Iowa, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Marion County Humane Society of to H.C. I. Care Services.
