Norris Duane Davis, 85, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services for Norris will be held Friday, December 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. A visitation will begin at 11:00 AM prior to services. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in the Woodburn Cemetery.
Norris was born on June 25, 1931 to Loren and Viola Davis in Woodburn, Iowa. Norris graduated high school and played baseball at Simpson College for a year.
Norris met Twyla Gardner in school. They were married and together they raised 3 children, Rick, Denny and Denise. Norris enjoyed his family, biking, sports, hunting, yard work, cars and eating.
Norris worked as an Administrator for the Iowa Department of Public Safety.
Norris is survived by his wife Twyla of Carlisle; children, Rick(Jo)Davis of West Des Moines, Denny(Kathi)Davis of Carlisle and Denise(Kent)Barbee of Clive; grandchildren, Melissa Davis, Michael Davis, Jill Berg, Sara Bugbee, Molly Boyer, Kevin Davis, Nate Barbee and Katie Carney; great grandchildren, Trenton Davis, Dylan Berg, Sydney Berg, Carter Berg, Addy Davis and Kinsie Davis.
Norris was preceded in death by his parents Loren and Viola and his siblings Darrell Davis and Phyllis Wright.
Memorials for Norris may be given to the Carlisle Fire Department or the Carlisle United Methodist Church
