Last rites for John F.Cornthwaite, 70 who died at 1:30 am yesterday in the home of a son,Boyd Cornthwaite,2120 E.Lincoln Ave. will be held at 2:30 pm tomorrow in the Macon Presbyterian church. Burial will be in the Macon cemetery with Masonic rites. The body will be taken from Glenn Bros.funearal home there to the residence where friends may call this evening and tomorrow morning.
Mr.Cornthwaite was a life long resident of Macon county.He had been in failing health since the death of his wife on March 28,1937,and had been confined to his home since January.
Mr.Cornthwaite was born Aug. 9,1867 in S.Wheatland township,the son of John and Mary Cornthwaite and lived in and near Macon and Elwin all his life where he was a farmer.
He was active in the Democratic organization and for several years was highway commission of S.Macon township. He was a member of Masonic lodge and the Macon Presbyterian church.
On Feb.18, 1892 Mr.Cornthwaite married Lenora Logan of Elwin. He leaves two daughters,Mrs. Verna Shaw and Mrs.Clestia Britton,both of Macon and two sons,Tearl of Macon and Boyd of Decatur. There are eight grandchildren, a half sister, Mrs. N. E. Stickle,Decatur and a half brother, J. H. Hill,Decatur.

MACON-Mrs. John Cornthwaite,67 a life long resident of Macon county, died at her home here at 10 pm Sunday.
Mrs. Cornthwaite was born in S.Wheatland township,Nov. 29,1870 and was married to John F.Cornthwaite on Feb. 18, 1892. She was a member of the Presbyterian church in Macon and was actively engaged in church affairs.
Besides her husband she leaves four children, Mrs.Verna Shaw, Macon,Kearl, Buhl, Ida and Boyd and Clestia Britton of Decatur and eight grandchildren
The body was taken to the Glenn funeral home here and will be returned to the home later. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
