Onela M. Chism was the daughter of Jesse James Chism and Reta Bell Hardin.

Onela died from Whooping cough and Asthma at the young age of 1 year, 7 months, and 18 days.

Onela leaves behind a sister, Bittie Jean; and two brothers, Jimmie Doyle and Andrew Jackson, and her maternal grandmother Lucy Artiemis Harris-Hardin to mourn her loss.

She was preceeded in death by her paternal grand parents Jesse W. Chism and Mary Jane Burk-Chism; and her maternal grandfather Siras Bell Hardin.
