On Friday, September 7, 1979. He was a resident of Tamarac, FL, and formerly Alexandria, VA, and Oxon Hill, MD. He had a heart attack.

He retired in 1973, having served the public for 35 years in the Federal Railroad Administration and the U.S. Army.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Laura Farrell of Richmond & Teddy Van Sickle of Alexandria; sisters, Sophie Riskus of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren.

The Wheatley Funeral Home of Alexandria, VA, assisted the family with arrangements. Graveside services were conducted on Tuesday, September 11, 1979.

She retired from the U.S. Department of Transportation, and was preceded in death by her husband, 1st Lt. Theodore "Zak" Zakrzewski, U.S. Army, WW II, Korea (Ret.).
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura Ann & Hank Farrell and Teddy & Steve Stair; grandchildren, Lisa Denson, Andrew, David, & Matthew Farrell, and Zachary & Sydney Stair; six great-grandchildren.
