"John Simmons, Retired Coleman Farmer Dies

John H. Simmons, 81, a retired Coleman farmer, died at his residence in Santa Anna at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 23.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church in Santa Anna with Rev. Frank Turner, Jr., pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating.

Mr. Simmons was born June 26, 1876 in Bell County, and died November 23, 1957 at his home in Santa Anna.

Survivors include a son, Elmer Simmons of Santa Anna; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Cullins of Santa Anna and Mrs. Elmer Hammonds of Fort Worth; a brother, E. R. Simmons of Killeen; two sisters, Mrs. M. A. Ruble of Dallas and Mrs. John Zaremba of San Angelo; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with burial in Santa Anna Cemetery."
