Richard L. Chadwick, 70, of Washington, died unexpectedly Friday, October 12, 2001, in Washington Hospital.

He was born May 23, 1931, in Van Buren, a son of Thomas William and Hazel Oliver Kelley Chadwick.

Mr. Chadwick was retired as a security guard for U.S. Security at Dynamet Corp.

He was Protestant and a member of the Jessop Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Chadwick served in the U.S. Army military police in Korea and received the Japanese Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal and Purple Heart.

He made his home with Lucille Hackenson of Washington.

Surviving are a daughter, Rickilyn Jean Chadwick of Ohio; two brothers, Herbert and John Chadwick, both of Washington; and a sister, Mary Eckert of Arkansas.

Deceased are three brothers, Frank, William and Duane Chadwick; and four sisters, Viola Reedy, and three sisters who died in infancy.

CHADWICK '96 Friends of Richard L. Chadwick of Washington, who died Friday, October 12, 2001, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 15, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in West Union Cemetery, Greene County.
