Francis C. Fordyce 79, from Oelwein, Iowa, was born September 15, 1927 in Blockton, Iowa, to Leroy and Marie (Ford) Fordyce. Francis passed away March 13, 2007 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa after a short illness.
Francis married Betty Campbell in 1952 in Blockton, Iowa at the Methodist Church, and retired form the Chicago Great Western Rail Road after 41 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Oelwein; one daughter, Francine and her husband, Alan Davis of St. Charles, Missouri; two sons, Philip Fordyce of Oelwein and Gary Fordyce of Chicago, Illinois; four grandchildren, Tanya, Ben, Katie and Michael; a brother, Eldon Fordyce of Aurelia, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Naomi.
Masonic service led by Hebron Lodge #374 and American Legion service led by Ross Reed Post #9 were held March 15, 2007.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 16, 2007 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein, and Burial at a later date in Rose Hill C
