"Laura E. Flowers
MABANK - Services for Mrs. Laura Edna Flowers, 88, Mabank, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in Central Baptist Church in Mabank with the Rev. Kenneth Hensley officiating.
Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Van Zandt County under direction of Hilliard Funeral Home in Van.
Mrs Flowers died Monday at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 22, 1900, in Van Zandt County, and lived in the Mabank area all her life. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Mabank.
Survivors include four sons, Vernon Flowers, Mesquite, Donald Eugene Flowers, Mabank, and Harold Flowers and Loyd Flowers, both of Dallas; six daughters, Helen Vernell Long, Barbara G. Shipley and Doris Avon Eads, all of Mabank, Lois Evon Smith, Clarksville, Joan Standford, Compton, Ark., and June LaFay Patterson, Kaufman; a brother, Eddie Guinn, Mabank; three sisters, Mrs. Alice McAfee and Mrs. Artie Flowers, both of Mabank, and Opal Flowers, Lancaster; and more than 100 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be the following grandsons: Gary Flowers, Kenneth Eads, Harold Wayne Flowers, Billy D. Flowers, Douglas Lester and Billy Patterson Jr."
