H. Darlene Dean, age 89 of Morning Sun, died Tuesday January 14, 2014 at the Morning Sun Care Center. The daughter of George and Lulu (Wolverton) Bryant, she was born February 10, 1924 at Morning Sun. On November 14, 1941 she married Floyd "Peck" Dean at Canton, Missouri. She was a graduate of the Morning Sun High School. She was a lifelong member of the Morning Sun United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: her husband of Morning Sun; two sons, Ralph Dean of Morning Sun; Lonnie Dean of Brighton, Colorado; two daughters, Trudy Hopkins of Ottumwa; Georgeann Robinson of Keosauqua; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren;

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.

Cremation has been accorded and there will be no visitation.

The memorial service will be Saturday January 18, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Morning Sun United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery. A general memorial has been established in her name. Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun is in charge of the arrangments."
