"Leroy (Buck) Cavanaugh, 58, 311 North Ault Street, died at 7:30 o'clock this morning in Wabash Hospital. He was a retired store helper for the Wabash Railroad Co.

Mr. Cavanaugh was a veteran of World War II and of the Korean conflict, holding the rating of machinist second class in the Seabees. His only son was in the Navy at the same time his father served.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Born near Darksville, he had lived in Moberly for years.

Mr. Cavanaugh is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Montgomery of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Mary Milnes of Moberly; the son, Porter R. Cavanaugh of Moberly; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ural Harlan of Huntsville; and a brother, Lloyd Cavanaugh of Moberly. Homer Cavanaugh of Moberly and Charlie Cavanaugh of South Gate, California, are uncles.

The body is in the Cater Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon by his pastor, Dr. Blake Westmoreland. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens." Moberly Monitor-Index, January 22, 1960
