Also spelled Manney (possibly a typographical error). Time marches on and
we are in the second war with Great Britain in 1812 to 1814. I have been
told by a friend that a recent history of Rutherford County [N.C.] by Mr.
Griffin that it contains the names of two men that fought in the war,
Peter Koon and James Nanney, the former my great uncle, the latter my
