William A. Mixter, of Westport, served with the Navy at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked in 1941. He was the widower of Doris A. (Boudria) Boothroyd-Mixter. He served in the Navy for 20 years, including service on several ships, in Hawaii and on Bikini Island, where he took part in military experiments on the atomic bomb fron 1944-1946.
