Coopersville Observer, September 24, 1920--Amos Wolverton was born in Steuben County, New York. At the age of five years he came with his parents to Michigan, settling on a farm in Wright township, where he resided until December 1907, when he moved to Coopersville.

He was united in marriage to Jennie Basom, August 2, 1874, and three sons were born to this union, the youngest dying in infancy,

He is survived by the widow and two sons, George of Ionia County, Delbert, of Wright township; four grandchildren; one brother, Vinson Wolverton of Wright Township; one sister, Mrs Myron Hastings of Grand Rapids, besides other relatives and a host of friends, He was recognized by all as a loving husband, kind father and a good neighbor. Funeral services were held in the M. E. Church, Sunday afternoon, September 19, Rev. A. C. Parsons officiating. Burial in the Berlin cemetery. Obituaries of the Coopersville Observer by Boersma

Amos enlisted as private in Co. F, 30th Michigan Infantry, on December 3, 1864, and was mustered out on June 16, 1865.
