WILLIAM A. LITTEN Dies Tuesday Morning at Hospital --- Wiliam A. Litten, co-proprietor of the Litten Chevrolet Sales Co. at Brunswick died at the Washington County Hospital yesterday morning from injuries sustained in the Friday night accident between Boonsboro and Funkstown. He was 41 years old.

Mr. Litten, according to reports, sustained internal injuries from a crushed chest in the accident and also sustained a fractured skull and crushing injury to the left arm. He had been in a serious condition since the accident occurred, friends said.

His brother and co-proprietor of the garage, Russell E. Litten, was reported yesterday to be improving from injuries sustained in the accident. He sustained severe injuries about the legs and x-ray have been taken.

William Litten had told state police, the report states, that he was the driver of the vehicle that was proceeding east on Route 40 about 2.4 miles east of Hagerstown. Nearing a slight crest in the road the westbound car approached partially on its wrong side of the road. Pulling to the right to avoid a collision the car occupied by the brothers struck a concrete calvert. The other car was reported to have continued without stopping. The accident occurred about 10:30 p.m.

Funeral services were held at the late home; burial was in Park Heights cemetery.

The Litten Chevrolet Sales on West Potomac Street has been conducted by the brothers since 1934. Prior to that time it is understood William Litten was a salesman for the former operator. He was also a former conductor on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.

Mr. Litten came to Brunswick some years ago, being a native of the Edinburg, Va., section. He was prominently identified with fraternal activities, being a member of the Brunswick Masons, Eastern Star, Moore and Eagles organizations, the Elks Lodge of Frederick, The Tall Cedars of Hagerstown, the Potomac Rod and Gun Club of Brunswick, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He was very well-known among a wide circle of friends in Brunswick.

Besides his brother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ellen S. Barger Litten; his mother, Mrs. Lucy Coffman Litten, who resides in Virginia, and two sisters, Mrs. Hobart Turner of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Mary Pence, Edinburg.

The A.F. and A. Masons, Lodge 191, of Brunswick had charge of the funeral services, which were held at the late home, on Rosemont, Brunswick; interment was in Park Heights Cemetery, Brunswick; arrangements by C.H. Feete and Bro., funeral directors.
