LARRY J. AYERS 54, passed away Tuesday September 12 surrounded by his loving family and friends after a long and difficult battle with cancer.
He was born November 14, 1945 in Levelland, Texas; the youngest of 5 children. Larry was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, where he sang tenor in the church choir for over 25 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Lester Ayers; and brother, Dan Ayers. He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Jeanette Jaska Ayers; two daughters which he cherished, Tammy and Tracy Ayers both of Houston; mother, Maxine McElhany of Waco; sister, Jane Cunningham and husband Ken of Austin; two brothers, Don Ayers and wife Eva of Waco, Tommy Ayers of Mabank; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family to receive friends 5-9:00 p.m. Wednesday September 13, 2000 at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday September 14, 2000 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 3600 Brinkman. Interment to follow at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Penelope, Texas.
If so desired, donations may be made to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church building fund.
