J C Whitehead died Thursday June 1 from pneumonia which he contracted about two weeks after the death of his father J J Whitehead who died from the same cause about 7 weeks ago. The youth was a trifle over 16 years of age. Funeral services were held from the M E church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev Geo F Tripp officiating, and interment was made in Byron Cemetery. The deceased was the son of J J & Mattie Whitehead and was born in Midland Co on April 29, 1900. He came to this (Burns)twp with his parents when he was 2 years old, where the family has since resided. Besides his mother, he is survived by 2 brothers & 2 sisters. Mrs. Whitehead is the daughter of A W Campbell of this village.
