He had no wife or children. He died shortly after resigning his job of 1 year as a traveling salesman with a chemical company. He died at his mother's home in Nichols or Owego.

Obituary:
William F. Waite, a prominent young farmer, formerly of Wait's, died very suddenly yesterday afternoon at about 5 o'clock at the home of his mother, Mrs. Nettie Waite, in the Gazette block, Lake street, from hemorrhage of the brain, aged 26 years. His funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wait's church. Prayer will be said at 12 o'clock at his late home. Mr Waite removed to Owego from Wait's about a year ago. He returned Monday night to Owego, suffering intensely from a pain in his head. He remained in this condition until yesterday afternoon when he suddenly died. He was a son of Fred Waite and was born at Wait's. He is survived only by his mother. He was a member of Tioga lodge, and C. M. Haywood encampment, I.O.O.F., who will have charge of the burial services.
