An intimate anecdotal biography of one of the most colorful characters in Canadian History
By A. N. WOLVERTON:

Enos married Harriet Newel Towl (born March 16th,
1817, in the Township of Windham, County of Windham,
Vermont) on December 24th, 1834. They walked to Elder
Landon's house and were married by him (at Princeton,
Canada West) . Then they trudged off nearly twenty miles
through the woods to a little log house that Enos had built,
about three miles north of the present site of the Village of
Wolverton, Township of Blenheim, County of Oxford,
Ontario. They carried on their backs all that they had in the
world. Of utensils they boasted two plates, two cups, two
knives, two forks and two spoons. Every item of furniture
was made by Enos with his own hands.
