Hugh was better know as Mac by all his co-workers and friends.
He came to Oklahoma when he was a very young man.
This is when he met the love of his life and married.
He worked with his brother-in-law in a Plant Nursery owned by his brother-in-law. They planted all the old trees that you still see today along 11th street in Lawton, OK.
Hugh (Mac) was a Journalist by trade. He ran the first newspaper in Anadarko, OK. Early 1900's. He also was the first Postmaster General of Meers, OK. Postmaster General for Anadarko, Oklahoma as well. He received many certificates signed by diffrent presidents of the United States for his good works.
He donated all his free time to the Boy Scouts Of America and was a member of the Lion's Club.
Just a fun note about Hugh (Mac). He once won a car load of coal for writing the best written artical at a convention held in the state of Oklahoma for editors everywhere.
