Ida May Morris was born May 1870 in Bushnell, Illinois, the daughter of John Morris (1829-1888) FAG # 43036604 and his second wife Nancy Jane Florey. Ida had 3 older half-brothers, William, Thomas and Taylor Evans from her mother’s first marriage to Thomas Mitchel Evans in 1856 in Macon County, Illinois; and 3 older half-sisters, Mary Jane, Elmira Alice and Elva E. Morris from her father’s first marriage to Mary Ward in abt 1854.

John Morris and Nancy Jane Florey Evans married 11/29/1868 in McDonough County, Illinois. By the time of the 1875 Kansas state census, they were living in Parker, Kansas, and were still there in 1880 with Ida May, age 10. Her father John died 2/17/1888 in St. Louis, Missouri but was buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Macon County, Illinois. The date and place of her mother’s death is unknown.

By the 1900 census, Ida, age 30 and single, was living in a hotel in Omaha, Nebraska, working as a laundress. In 1910 she was age 40, single, and living as a servant in the household of the Frederick H. Martin family in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. Ida May Morris died 3/27/1945 in Salem, Oregon, having been a resident of the Oregon State Hospital 34 yrs, 1mo and 19 days.

I would appreciate your linking her father's FAG memorial # 43036604 to Ida May's memorial. I could not find a death record or FAG for her mother. She may have remarried and without knowing her surname, I had no luck.
