Blanche Chloe Martin was the daughter of James Thomas Martin and Melissa Ellen Stoops Martin of Ripley County, Indiana.

She was the fifth of seven children, five of which survived to adulthood. Her parents are both buried in the Otter Village Cemetery in Ripley County, alongside three of their sons.

She married Clifford C. Upjohn on December 24, 1915 in Lebanon, Indiana.

Blanche did not have children.

She was a member of the Greensburg Presbyterian Church. She was a nurse in Greensburg.

She resided at 307 South Franklin Street in Greensburg.
