Mr. McCutchan was born in Lamoine Township in McDonough County on Dec. 4, 1892, the son of William F. and Ellen Wear McCutchan. He attended Plymouth rural and high school and Browns Business College in Galesburg. He farmed for 13 years near Miller, SD. In 1933,he moved to Plymouth and became owner and operator of the Plymouth Elevator. He was a member of the Plymouth Methodist Church, The Plymouth Masonic Lodge, Quincy Consistory, Order of Eastern Star #38 in Plymouth and was a former director of the State Bank of Augusta.

He married Mae B. Larrimore in Payson, IL. She is deceased.

Surviving are two daughters; one son; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers; four sisters. Preceding him in death was one brother."
