After 83 years filled with honor, dignity, and love, Milt Dodson, passed away on May 8, 2014, he was at home and surrounded by his loving family. Milt was born in Texas on Nov. 20, 1930 but moved to California in 1940. He later met his loving wife Virginia and married her on July 28, 1956. They were married 57 years. Milt was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. Milt served in the Korean War. Milt worked for US Steel Corporation for 35 years. Throughout his 83 years of life Milt never turned away from an adventure. He was a member of the Scavenger Motorcycle Club, Brentwood Gun Club, and a crew member of the Gold Prospectors Association which lead Milt to Nome Alaska on many occasions. Milt was an avid hunter, abalone diver, chef, wine maker, carpenter, gardener, and all around life enthusiast. If there was a challenge, you better believe he was going to take it and conquer it.
He is preceded in death by his parents Junius and Fannie Dodson and his daughter Sheri Lynn Dodson who passed away in 1966. Milt is brother to Gordon and Orland Dodson and Annette Brien. Milt is survived by his devoted wife Virginia Dodson, his sons Ron Dodson and Michael Dodson (Desiree), and his four grandchildren, Trevor, Christopher, Tanner, and Kelsey Dodson.
Milt's loving and dedicated heart will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched. He was an extraordinary man. Milt's motto was to live life to the fullest and that he did indeed.
Services will be held at Higgins Funeral Chapel in Antioch, May 14, 2014, at 10:00A.M. Committal to follow at Oak View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Kaiser Hospice can be made in his honor.
