Floyd E. Jaquet, 66, of 4224 Cloverdale Road died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, 1997, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born July 2, 1931, in Williamsfield to Floyd H. and Elsie Stodgel Jaquet, he married Marcelia Jarvis on July 1, 1956, in Williamsfield. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Rebecca Iliff of Washburn; two brothers, Wallace of East Peoria and Max of Rome; one sister, Doris Curry of Davenport, Iowa; and five grandsons.

A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of American Legion Post 9. He was a design engineer at Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville for 40 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a life member of Chillicothe Sportsmen's Club, where he was a former president.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at his church. The Rev. Ray Harrison will officiate. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Weber Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to his American Legion post.

Marcelia Jaquet, age 79, of 210 W. Woodford, Washburn, died at 12:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at her home.

She was born Aug. 6, 1930, in Haileyville, Okla., a daughter of the late H.P. and Addie Wolverton Jarvis. She married Floyd Jake Jaquet on July 1, 1956, in Williamsfield, Ill. He preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 1997.

She also was preceded by one sister.

Surviving are one daughter, Becky (Andy) Iliff of Washburn; one brother, Jim (Elizabeth) Jarvis of Forest, Va.; five grandsons, Tom and Ben Iliff of Washburn, Aaron (Becky) Berta of Colchester, Conn., Mike (Rachel) Berta of Fort Myers, Fla., and Kevin (Paula) Berta of Washburn; and three great-granddaughters, Emma, Amie and Addison Berta.

Marcelia was a school teacher for 29 years, retiring from J.L. Hensey Elementary School in Sunnyland.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Washburn, where a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, with Pastor Amy Holman officiating. Inurnment of ashes will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials can be made to her church or St. Jude.

Arrangements are by Lenz Memorial Home of Lacon.
