Thomas K. Jacobs was born August 4, 1836 in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio and died October 1, 1916 at Shiloh, Richland County, Ohio, aged 80 years, 1 month and 27 days.

He is survived by his wife, Euphrasia to whom he united in marriage July 15, 1863 and the following children, Samuel, Olden, Elmer T. Lina, Delphine, Charles, Mollie, Lillian, Franklin and Mildred, Harriet, Fern and Grace, one sister Sarah Bothrick, and seven grandchildren. One daughter Caroline preceded him.

Mr. Jacobs united with the Christian Church at Adario several years ago. He was a kind husband and an indulgent father always having the welfare of his family at heart and giving them his first thought. Mr. Jacobs enlisted in Company C. 5th Regt of Ohio Cavalry on the 28th day of March 1864 in which he served with valor until the company was mustered out.

Mr. & Mrs. Jacobs lived in Williams county, Ohio for 12 years and the balance of the time was spent in Richland County, Ohio. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Adario October 4, 1916. The family will miss a loving husband and father and the community a good neighbor and citizen.
