Samuel J. Jackson, 79, of Bryan, Texas and formerly of Cory, Ind., passed away at 3:15 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital.
Born Oct. 26, 1922, he was the son of Samuel T. Jackson and Amanda Nevada Burns Jackson.
He retired from Peabody Coal Company in 1975 and Morrison-Knudsen Company in 1988. He was an Army veteran having served in the European Theater during World War II. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bryan, Texas.
Survivors include, his wife Anna Mae Royer Jackson of Bryan, Texas; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry R. and Sharon Jackson of Moberly, Mo., Mickey E. and Marilyn Jackson of Jourdanton, Texas; Dr. Richard A. and Liz Jackson of South Lake, Texas; one daughter, Janita A. Bush of Austin, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rosalee Jackson of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mamie Jackson, Delorus Bullerdick, Caroline Gard; six brothers, Clarence, Clell, Griffith, Robert, Clifford and Floyd; grandson, Hollis Jackson; son-in-law, Jerry Bush; and his parents.
Funeral services will be at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, Texas at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the Rev. Henry Stovall officiating. Burial will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.

Anna Maye Jackson, age 94, of Pleasanton entered into heaven on August 22, 2016. She was born on 9 September, 1921 to Carrie and Wayne Royer in Bowling Green, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Jackson, her parents, Wayne and Carrie Royer, grandson, Hollis Jackson, son-in-law Jerry Bush and daughter-in-law Sharon Jackson. She and her husband celebrated 61 years of marriage. She and her husband loved to travel and made it to all 50 states. She lived in several states (New York, Kentucky, Missouri, Idaho, Montana and finally in Texas)
She is survived by her 4 children, Larry Jackson of Moberly, Missouri, Mickey (Marilyn) Jackson of Pleasanton, Texas, Janita Bush of Pleasanton, Texas and Richard (Lizabeth) Jackson, Southlake, Texas. She has 10 grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She is survived by a brother Jimmy (Ruby) Royer of Terre Haute, Indiana and sister, Martha (George) Rickert of Brookville, Ohio. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many cousins.

She loved the Lord and her church family at First Baptist Church in Pleasanton. She loved to cook even created a cookbook of her favorite recipes. She kept busy with her rose garden and flowers, gardening, sewing and traveling. She will be missed by all of those who knew her. She was an amazing woman, loyal friend, loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Young of Heart, Pleasanton First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Pleasanton on Monday, August, 29, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM. A private interment will be at the Bryan City Cemetery in Bryan, Texas .
