Harold (Tooter) Cecil Hoffman, 90, of Woodstock joined his beloved wife Frances, Thursday, April 19, 2012. The funeral will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Maurertown Brethren Church. Reverend Richard Craver will officiate. Burial will follow in Maurertown Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30-3:00 at the church and friends may also call at the Dellinger Funeral Home Saturday from 10:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m.

Mr. Hoffman was born October 15, 1921 in Shenandoah County, son of the late Cecil and Golda Ritenour Hoffman. He graduated from Woodstock High School in 1940 and served in the army during World War II in the South Pacific and Philippines. He was a foreman and office clerk at Shaffer's Hatchery in Maurertown for 20 years and retired in 1982 as a bookkeeper and office manager at Shenandoah Valley Homes and was a former Deputy Clerk for Shenandoah County. He was a lifelong member of Maurertown Brethren Church where he served as trustee, Sunday School Superintendent, treasurer, deacon and had perfect attendance for 40 years until his wife's illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Frances Anne Stultz Hoffman, step-mother-Marguerite Ritenour Hoffman and two sisters, Jean Hoffman and Alese Selma Hoffman Coffman.

He is survived by three half brothers, Tracey Hoffman and his wife Vivian of Woodstock, Jerry Hoffman and his wife Dorothy of Winchester and Donald Hoffman and his wife Patsy of Stephenson; two half sisters, Golda Leigh Wiseman and her husband Otis of Ohio and Betty Mae Smith of Harrisonburg and her husband Bob (deceased) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mike Wilkins, Steve Copp, Steve Stultz, Jonathan Hodges, Ronald Coffman and Jay Jarrett.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Funkhouser and Guy Wetzel.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like for you to treat yourself to a whopper Jr., or sausage and egg biscuit from Woodstock Burger King in his memory.

Harold always wore a hat, enjoyed fishing on the river, playing baseball in his younger years, picnics in the Fort and sitting on his front porch listening to baseball on the radio.

Frances Anne Stultz Hoffman, 87, of Woodstock, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Royal Haven in Woodstock. The funeral will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Maurertown Brethren Church. Reverend Richard Craver will officiate. Burial will follow in Maurertown Cemetery.

Mrs. Hoffman was born February 23, 1923 in St. Luke, daughter of the late Otis Earl and Ella Shipp Stultz. She retired from Bowman Apple in Maurertown after 18 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Maurertown Brethren Church and the Turah Locke Bible Class. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Leon Stultz, Bruce Stultz, Cecil Stultz and Alston Stultz; and two sisters, Hazel Clark and Margaret Bradfield.

Frances is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harold "Tooter" Hoffman whom she married on June 26, 1948; sister, Mary E. Coffman of Maurertown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Alvin Vann, Calvin Vann, Mike Wilkins, Steve Copp, William Funkhouser and Steve Stultz.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-8 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.
