Birth: Nov. 9, 1946

Death: Apr. 17, 2014
Red Oak
Montgomery County

Terry Allen Hadden, age 67, of Essex, Iowa entered into eternal life on April 17, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa.
Terry was born November 9, 1946 in Shenandoah, Iowa. He was one of two children born to Wilson and June Madeline (Habig) Hadden. They lived in Essex most of their lives with a short bout of moves to Antioch, California and Red Oak, Iowa.
Terry attended and graduated from Essex Community School in 1966. After graduation he began his working career with being a "Jack of all Trades." He was a laborer for 16 years at Romech until the plant closed in 2006. He then worked for a short while at Featherlite Trailers in Shenandoah and ended up retiring from Clarinda Heating and Plumbing. The trade that he enjoyed the most was doing plumbing, heating, and air conditioning work, following in his Dad's footsteps. He "retired" in 2012 but still enjoyed doing odd jobs for friends and family.
Terry married the love of his life Arilla (Graham) on December 13, 1969 and to this union two boys were born, Brian and Joel. Terry and Arilla enjoyed spending all of their time together, whether it be riding horses, boating, and fishing or just sitting on the front porch enjoying the rest of the family and friends, the sunset or the love birds flying through the yard.
Terry enjoyed anything that had to do with the outdoors and with his family. He loved hunting, fishing, and archery. He shared a special bond with Arilla horseback riding and always loved when the dogs would follow along. He took great pride in the many BIG fish and trophy bucks that he has harvested over the years. He also took great pride in sharing his hunting and fishing skills with his two grandsons, Chase and Tucker, who will continue to carry on that tradition with their Grandfather's spirit by their side.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother June, father Wilson and Uncle Donald.
Those left to cherish his memory and carry on this traditions are his loving wife of 44 years, Arilla Hadden, son Brian Hadden and wife Dawn and their two boys Chase and Tucker, son Joel Hadden and girlfriend Amber Schmidt, sister Michelle Hadden-McGuire, along with countless other family and friends.
Memorials maybe directed to the family where they will be distributed to where Terry's love of the outdoors will be carried on.
Inurnment of cremated remains will be at the Essex Cemetery following the memorial service at the church.
