"Memorial services for Ann Gerik, a 71-year-old Breckenridge resident, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 22, at Morehart Mortuary, with the Rev. Rick Owen, pastor of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Burleson, officiating. The body was cremated. She died early Friday morning, July 19, 2002, at her residence at Hubbard Creek Lake, near Breckenridge.
She was born Ann Penniington in Wellington, on Dec. 6, 1930. She married Billy Gerik in Pep, on March 4, 1950. She was a loan officer at Morton State Bank for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. They moved to Breckenridge in Nov. 2001, from Morton. While in Morton, she had been a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, past president of St. Ann's Altar Society, YM Study Club and numerous banking organizations.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Gerik of Breckenridge; one son, Gary Gerik of Morton; two daughters, Terri Taylor and Lisa Davis, both of Burleson; two sisters, Ernestine Penny White of San Antonio and Edith Pennington of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Opal Franks Pennington."
