Fletcher -- Services will be held Friday afternoon in the Fletcher Baptist church for John M. Littlefield, 99, who died Wednesday at the home of a daughter in Elgin. Burial will be in Fletcher cemetery.
Born in Tennessee, Littlefield moved to Texas in 1879. He operated a general merchandise store in Fletcher after coming here in 1906. Later he farmed in the Fletcher community and resided in the Elgin-Fletcher area more than 50 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harry Roll, Elgin, and Mrs. Mattie Foster, Oklahoma City; seven sons, Custer, Hardeman and Elmo, all of Fletcher, Ed of Cyril, John of Lawton and George of Eldorado, Okla.; 43 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. J. M. Littlefield died at 8:15 o'clock Thursday evening at the home of her son, George Littlefield, in Fletcher following a lingering illness starting with the flu, age 68 years, 11 months and 1 day.
Funeral services were conducted in the Fletcher Baptist Church at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon by the pastor, Rev. F. J. Cox, assisted by Rev. C. D. Farmer, who read the obituary and lead in prayer, and by Rev. G. E. B. Snoddy, who read a passage of scripture and gave a brief comment. Interment followed in the Fletcher cemetery. Her eight sons served as pallbearers and eight of her granddaughters served as flower girls.
Lee Ann Carothers was born April 1, 1864 in McNary county Tennessee. On May 22, 1883 she was united in marriage with J. M. Littlefield in Adamsville, Tenn. and to this union were born 11 children, nine sons and two daughters. One son died in infancy.
The surviving children are: Custer, Hardeman, William, Fred, Elmo, John and George, who live in or near Fletcher, Ed of Amber, Mrs. Artie Roll of near Elgin and Mrs. Mattie Foster of Tacoma, Wash. All of the children were present at the funeral.
She is survived by her husband, two sisters, Mrs. Lucrecie Davault of near Apache and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Haggard of Tennessee, 31 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In 1884 she moved with her husband to Jones county, Texas where the family lived for 12 years and then returned to Tennessee in 1896. They remained in Tennessee ten years and then moved to Oklahoma in 1906, locating at Fletcher. Since that time the family has resided in or near Fletcher.
At the age of 18 she was converted to the Christian faith and at the age of 20 united with the Missionary Baptist church. In 1907 she united with the First Baptist church of Fletcher where her membership remained until her death.
She lived a very quiet life, being much devoted to her home and her church. Besides a large number of relatives she leaves many friends to mourn her departure.
