The 1850 Census of Indiana listed Andrew Scoles and six children,
including Sylvester C.. They were in Adams County, Blue Creek Township,
Indiana.
8/29/89: I Found Andrew in the Indiana census of 1840, where it lists
Children only by the number in various age brackets. It shows that he had
two sons between 5 and 10 yrs old (which would be two of Sylvester, Andrew
and John), one son between 15 and 20 (Which would be George), two
daughters under five (Lyia and Hannah), and five other daughters between
five and twenty. No children in that age range were listed in the
household in 1850, so they had either died or were married or otherwise
out of the household in 1850.
