Mrs. George Benedict, pioneer resident of Ionia county, passed away at her home in Orange township [Ionia County, MI] Wednesday afternoon of last week [09 May 1923], at the age of 71 years. Mrs. Benedict before her marriage was Miss Drusella [Drucilla] Wolverton and was born at Wolverton Plains [Eureka Township], Montcalm county. She attended the Ionia high school and taught several of the rural schools. She was an active worker in the church organizations and Sunday schools and had been a member of the LeValley Methodist Episcopal church since she was 11 years of age.

Mrs. Benedict is survived by six children, Mrs. Albert Hinds, of Orange township; Earl F. Benedict, of Muir; Ross W. Benedict, of Ionia; Elmer Benedict, Miss Anna L. Benedict, who has been a constant attendant of her mother, and Floyd Benedict, all of Orange township, and one brother, Elmer Wolverton.
